The Wakanda Forever Mid-Credits Scene Wants You to Meet Someone

This article was originally published in November after Wakanda Forever’s theatrical release. We are recirculating it now that the film is streaming on Disney+. The mid-credits scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picks up seconds after the film’s conclusion, which sees Shuri (Letitia Wright) visiting Nakia’s (Lupita Nyong’o) homestead in Haiti and finally taking a moment to grieve for her brother and move forward by burning her funeral clothes. In the spirit of moving forward, Nakia walks out with a young boy, whom she introduces to Shuri as Toussaint, her son.

Theater Review: Its Daniel Radcliffe vs. the Irish Stereotype, in The Cripple of Inishmaan

Pat Shortt and Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan. Who’s the worst Irish on Inishmaan? The competition is fierce. There’s the “newsman” Johnnypateenmike, who extorts food for his paltry gossip while trying to kill off his ancient and hideous mammy with drink. There’s young Helen, as nubile as she is vicious, who enjoys kicking grown men in the bollocks for no reason and pegging eggs at clergymen. (“If God went touching me arse in choir practice,” she blithely explains, “I’d peg eggs at that fecker too.

Three Billboards and Big Little Lies Star Kathryn Newton on Playing Emo Teens

Kathryn Newton has perfected the angsty teen-girl sneer: an eye-roll paired with a muttered insult, plus a glare icier than anything at Morgenstern’s. At best, her characters disrespect their mothers; at worst, they’re downright mean. But while playing a trio of teen girls across some of the year’s best offerings, Newton has also showed us each girl’s big heart. In February, Newton was Reese Witherspoon’s rebellious daughter on Big Little Lies, sneaking around on her laptop, scheming to sell her virginity online.

Travis Kelce Scores His Debut Single

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have a good bit in common: They were both born in 1989, grew up in neighboring states, have both hosted Saturday Night Live — and as of now, they both sing. Well, “sing” might be a generous word. But Kelce is indeed featured on “Fairytale of Philadelphia,” off his NFL star brother Jason’s upcoming charity Christmas album with his group the Philly Specials, A Philly Special Christmas Special.

Tupac Wanted to Make a Collaborative Album With Outkast

In a recently unearthed letter (remember those?) written by Tupac to his friend Big Lock, the rapper describes plans he has to create a group album called One Nation with the likes of Greg Nice, Buckshot, Smif-n-Wessun, Outkast, the Outlawz, Scarface, and E-40. Okayplayer confirmed the letter’s authenticity with Questlove, who said that the Roots had also been asked to participate in the project. It’s too bad we never got to see what would have come of such a collaboration, but one thing’s for sure: Biggie probably wouldn’t have been a part of it.

Verzuz Is Moving to X

Remember Verzuz? It’s back, in X form. Timbaland and Swizz Beats announced at Cannes Lions today that the rap battle show will be migrating to X (née Twitter). “We are beyond thrilled to have found the best partner for Verzuz. Not only are we excited to have Verzuz on X, we’re excited to help X build the biggest entertainment company in the world,” Swizz Beats said in a statement obtained by Variety.

Vultures Final Love Is Blind Predictions

Warning: Deep spoilers for season five, episode nine of Love Is Blind lie ahead.  Whether season five of Love Is Blind was your entry into Netflix’s reality-dating “experiment” or the one that made you swear the series off for good, it has been nothing short of messy. Stacy finally found out that Izzy has bad credit (something Johnie has known since the pods); Milton dragged Lydia for how she handles her emotions; Uche’s efforts to expose Lydia turned him into the Pepe Silvia meme; JP’s whereabouts are unknown; a stan army has risen to demand the release of the Renee Cut.

Warner Bros. and New Line to Forge More Lord of the Rings

Zaslav saw this whole trilogy, and his takeaway was “greed and power are two good, chill things.” Do you like The Lord of the Rings? Did you think it was totally chill and fine that J.R.R. Tolkien’s slender children’s volume, The Hobbit, was expanded into three entire feature-length films despite being only 300 pages long? Do you think The Adventures of Tom Bombadil would make for an excellent seven-part film series?
