A very important undertaking. It all started with a tweet. Comedian Joe Kwaczala recently pointed out that there are now 151 cast members of Saturday Night Live, which also happens to be the number of Gen 1 Pokémon. For one thing, comparing humans to semi-sentient pocket monsters can be incredibly cruel.

Former American Idol contestant Joanne Borgella Ramirez has died of a rare form of cancer. Her family made the announcement Saturday morning on the singer’s Facebook page and suggest she was suffering from endometrial cancer, which attacks the lining of the uterus and then spread to her chest. Borgella first became famous for winning Mo’nique’s Fat Chance, a beauty pageant for plus-size women that launched her career as a plus-size model.

This week’s selection comes from the writer Jordan Coley, who will begin his screening of Belly on April 16 at 7 p.m. ET. Head to Vulture’s Twitter to catch his live commentary.
My favorite scene in Belly isn’t the iconic blacklight-lit opening sequence. It comes later, somewhere in the second act, when a cell of masked mercenaries has descended on the mansion of Jamaican drug mafioso Lennox.

It is … an interesting choice, given that he’s filming with an iPhone in front of an empty backyard bar.
